The end of the year

Autumn and winter is always a teaching season for us but we did get in an evening dance out at a Sheffield Ceilidh Soc spot in October, no pictures unfortunately.

We had a very productive boot camp in November which resulted in a new dance; the Afternoon Tea Dance. Below is a sneaky picture of us learning the chorus for the first time.

Afternoon Tea Dance

As for a tune for this new dance, our lovely musicians took the awesome tune ‘Skirmish’ (thank you Jig Crew) and modified it into the wonderfully catchy ‘Squeamish’. Here’s a video of them perfecting the tune before showing it to the team (and being very cute at the end).

In December we were able to debut one of our new dances (Higger Tor) and two of our three excellent new members (who will feature on The Team page as soon as we can snap a photo of them in kit) at the Nether Edge Christmas/farmers’ market. It’s a lovely event which we’ve danced at several times now.

We’ll be back to practicing hard in the new year as soon as we have recovered from the festive season.
